Harshawardhan Yadav was born on 9 November 2004 in Pimple Saudagar, Pune, Maharashtra. He trains in .22 pistol shooting at the Gagan Narang Sports Promotion Foundation — known as the Gun For Glory Shooting Academy — at the Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex's 50m Shooting Range in Balewadi, Pune. He began shooting at age eleven, in 2015, alongside his elder brother Dhananjay.
